Has anyone figured out what the remote code for a Insigina TV (20" standard TV; Best Buy store brand name for another company's product) on the Comcast On Demand remote? I tried the search procedure with this remote and it did not work. Someone on this site reported a success however.

Method to search for codes on this rempote: (from [Link: comcast.com])

1. Press TV key
2. Press and hold setup key until TV light blinks
3. Enter 991
4. Alternate key presses between TV and Power until TV reacts. then the code has been found.

After the code is found, the remote can report back the number by doing this:

1. Repeat steps 1 & 2
2. Enter 990
3. Press 1 to see the first digit (number of blinks indicates the number)
4. Repeat step 3 three more times, watching/counting the number of blinks to figure out the code.

Code is 463 (under Orion) for Comcast Black Remote (I work at comcast and insignia is not on the code list) Someone called in with this problem. I checked this site for hints... none of the emerson ones worked, tried the orion codes and the last one worked (463). This is not for the newer silver remote... its for the black one that came out b4 the silver one. Just wanted to add that since this site ws helpful to me.

The code for Insignia 20" is 0171. It's one of the Sylvania ones, but it works. Thank God.

Its probably one of the Sylvania LCD TV codes (like the previous person recommended). I have a 20 inch Insignia LCD TV and my remote was fixed by a Sylvania LCD TV code.

The Answer to the Problem is all you have to do is ad a 0 to the front and you get 0463 and it will turn your Insignia HDTV off with no problem. A Comcast Customer

I am in Need of some Advice. I bought a Emerson 32" LCD Flat Screen HDTV Model #LC320EM8. I got it Last Friday, Cannot get My Comcast Cable Silver Remote to Control its Volume, Mute and other Features to the LCD TV. Can Anyone Give me the Code. I have tried Every Code under the Sun. I have called Comcast 3 Times, and I have also Called Emerson twice. No one Can seem to help. I tried Searching for the Code for about an Hour with No Luck. I tried Entering all the Possible Codes on the Manual for Comcast's Remote, NO LUCK. I tried Funai Codes, Sylvania Codes, Magnavox Codes. We Have been trying for the Past 3 Days. I can't believe it, I never realized it would be this Difficult. So if anyone KNOWS The REAL Code for this Comcast Remote, My Model Number is above on the TV. PLEASE HELP, I am Desperate IN Illinois. THANKS!!

Edmund,

Your probably right, my question is, WILL THERE EVER BE A CODE? Like in the Future? Just curious as I am going crazy with 2 Remotes on the bed. It stinks. I was use to having just the one remote. Its also a hassle for the Volume and Mute Buttons to be on the Emerson Remote and then have to look for the Comcast remote to change the Channels. I am hoping there will be a Code Sometime in the Near future. What do you think? Thanks!

Not for any of the remotes you have now, no. Of course there will be codes later but only a newer remote will have these codes. sorry.

Oh Ok I get it, so your saying, If I upgrade My Comcast Remote in the Future, like say in about 6 months, there will eventually be a Code in the Newer Comcast Remotes? I know you don't work for Comcast, but I was hoping for the Future, that I will be able to Convert back to just one remote. I was trying NOT To have to buy any other Remotes. I have read on another message board, that I could buy a NEWER Universal Remote and program it to work with the Emerson TV and My Comcast Box.
If thats true, how did they get the code? I am truly confused.

Alright, I made 1 and 1 make 2 here. The new silver remote from Comcast requires a 5 digit code, and none of the above provide that. However, I tried the codes for Orion and the code 10463 works, (recognize the 463 and 0463...). I have a 21" Insignia from late '07. I would try the rest of the Orion codes and the Emerson codes and they should bring great amounts of happiness while we cater to our indolence with minimal remote controls and no getting up to change channels/power the TV.
