The slingbox looks like an awesome product. Any known issues with D* or HD Tivos? Looks like a great way to watch the stuff at home on the Tivo when travelling-- Anybody have comments? quality issues?

Slingbox is Composite Video input and output. This will degrade the signal of even standard def DirecTV and Broadcast. It is nowhere near HD quality.
I've never even thought about using a composite output on a DirecTV HD TiVo... couldn't even tell you if it has the connection.

From the website, it appears that it also has Svideo. Which is the native format of D* SDTV. And you probably wouldn't be trying to send HDTV over the net to yourself, anyway. This looks like a very interesting product even inside the house for video distribution.

It supposedly has S Video and according to 1g uy I spoke to is an amazing product-- yet I find very little about it on here-- just an occasional reference. The "placeshifting" concept is great-- with a laptop and a verizon wireless highspeed connection, you've got access to your entire video collection anywhere.
