Hello everyone! Can anyone give me advice on good indoor UHF antenna for a ATSC tuner? I've read that the 'loop' style ones are not that good and that the 'bow-tie' ones are better. Do you need one with an amplifier as well? Lastly, if you live in the Greater Toronto Area, where to buy them? (Future Shop and The Source do not have many).

The Zenith Silver Sensor is the best indoor antenna. It is inexpensive and does the job. See this web site :

Thanks! Do you know by chance where I could buy one around the Greater Toronto Area?

I would recomend going to The Source and buying the Nexxtech model#1501880 for $59.99. I live in Toronto and am using it with great success. Check out this site [Link: hdtvexpert.com] where they actually test the Radio Shack (The Source) 15 1880 against the Silver Sensor. They even have to hook the unamplified Silver Sensor up to a Channel Master preamp to make the test more fair. I don't think any stores in Canada even carry the Silver Sensor anyway.

Another good indoor antenna is the Terk TV5 which I got off of Ebay real cheap. The reviews for it on www.circuitciy.com are amazing so I wanted to try it out. I compared it up against the 15 1880 and it was a close 2nd. Unfortunately I don't think it is sold in Canada either. Bottom line is you can't go wrong with the 15 1880.

I also have the 1501880 from NexTech (got it when it will still Radioshack) and use it for Indoor OTA HDTV (until I get my outdoor CM setup this weekend). I get everything from Thornhill area except WUTV, WNYO and WNYB (obviously no Rochester either). The only one I am really missing is WUTV, as even with a CM I probably wont reliably get WNYO or WNYB...
