Just a reminder if you've read any of my previous posts, I live in Toronto in the Kingston Road, Victoria Park area called the Upper Beaches.

Originaly I set up a Channel Master UHF 4-bay Bow Tie antenna (CM4221), pointing directly south towards Buffalo. I was hoping to pick up both the American stations and the Canadian stations with one antenna. I tried differing angles, trying to cheat the antenna further to the west. I eventualy found that no angle gave me a signal strength that didn't entail one or two stations loosing lock. I had the most trouble with City TV which seamed to be good one day and bad another.

I bit the bullet and orderred a Channel Master UHF 8-bay Bow Tie antenna (CM4228)and UHF amplifier (CM Titan 7775). I placed the 4-bay Bow Tie on the top of my mast and under it the 8-bay Bow Tie. I pointed the 4-bay Bow Tie west towards the CN Tower and the amplified 8-bay Bow Tie south towards Buffalo. Inside I put in place an A-B isolation switch to allow me to select the antenna of my choice. The A-B switch I'm using is not one of those cheap ones that can be bought at a department store. I found the cheap ones actualy don't isolate the two incoming antenna feeds so antenna signal cancelation can come into play.

I'm quite happy about the results of my new antenna configuration. I had to rebuild my wall mounts (from 8" to a 12" push out from the wall) because with the 4-bay Bow Tie antenna now pointing west it was almost touching my fire place's steel chimney. All the Buffalo stations are registering on my signal strength meter in the 95-99 % region. The Canadian stations are the same except for channel 66-1 which is around 68-78%.

In total I've put out about $300.00 cdn which would include mast mounting hardware and lead in cable. I'm looking forward to not having to make any further adjustments therefore just sitting back and enjoying HD programming...
