Hey,
Just wondering about the following stations and if they will eventually be broadcasting OTA HDTV
TVO TFO
One would think those two stations would have to be available...

I wrote them last May asking that very same question: the reply is below,
Hello Craig,
TVOntario is monitoring the rollout of DTV over the air transmission in Canada and United States. As you know some Canadian broadcasters have implemented low power DTV transmitters in some major Canadian cities. Present planning involves capital cost evaluations of our technical infrastructure to upgrade to this new transmission standard.

Hmmm. Since CBC's special new transmitter array they installed for HDTV is currently transmitting two CBC digital, one CBC analog plus TVO analog already, and was designed to add future channels, I would imagine their startup costs would be minimal (or at least less than most stations).

I heard that TVO had no interest in DTV and gave up their allotted channel.

TV Niagara, a new upstart group trying to get a broadcast license, is basing their technical plans on using TVO DTV allotment. They say TVO has no plans for this.
