New here, i searched the forums for something about this, and couldnt find anything, but sorry if im posting something thats already been addressed...

I have a dtv R10 and I'm trying to use the white universal remote from a d10-200 with it. I am using code 01442 (the correct code I'm pretty sure) but the remote only flashes once instead of twice (indicating that it is not a recognized reciever code) Infact, the only codes that the remote seems to know are D10 codes.. (00001, 00002, 00003), I did an automatic code search and it only cycled between 3-4 codes.

I know that a replacement universal remote from DTV is capible of controlling almost all DTV recievers, including the R10, my question would be is the remote that comes with the d10s set up to only be used with d10s? Do i really need to buy a new white remote? Tried resetting it but didnt help. Any info would be appreciated.

The only SAT codes in the d10 remote is for the D10. But there is loophole, under AV1 or AV2, you can get partial control of the Tivo by using code 20618. A vcr code left over when tivos were listed under vcrs. Some important keys are locked to the DTV device, which can only control the D10.

Thanks edmund, weird that they wouldn't put all the reciever codes into remotes shipped with d10s when the replacement version have them. oh well, looks like i need a new remote

Then they wouldn't be able to sell you new remotes!
