I am about to purchase the MX-500 remote and am curious as to who makes the Direct TV H-10 receiver. I did not see codes in the online manual for a DirectTV satellite receiver. Does anyone have the code? Will I simply need to use the learning mode?

Doesn't matter who makes it, there is no code for it in the mx-500. It and the D10 are using a codeset no other SAT brand ever used. The mx-650 has a code.

Can the MX-500 learn the codes from the H-10 remote?

Go for it. This is the best, fastest way to start up your MX-500, anyway.

Thanks, folks! I appreciate the feedback. After further review, I have decided to go with the Harmony 659. The "activity" setup seem ideal for the wife and our constant flow of visitors. My equipment isn't high end but I have the basic boxes of satellite HD, receiver, VCR, DVD, and a Toshiba 46HX83. Please pass any tips on setting this up. What a great site and terrific forum!!
