I don't know if anyone else has posted info. on this topic, so sorry if it's old news. I live in Ma. and Comcast has started "digitizing" chanels 1-100. They have already done ch. 3 (CN8) and 14 (WSBK) and I have to say that they look pretty good. I don't have much info. on how long the entire switch will take, but it's nice to know that it has at least started. I'll check in with my Comcast rep and see if he has any more information on the time frame for the switch to be finalized. For now, if you want to see the difference, and you live in Ma., switch between ch. 3 and 4 or 13 and 14 and you can see a noticable difference. I just went to a customers house for a troubleshoot (the 4:3 default was set to "off" on his box so he couldn't strech anything) and checked it out on a Sammy HLR4677W using a DVI to HDMI cable and it looked pretty good. I'll post back when I hear from my rep..

Wow, I hadn't noticed---it will be sweet once their all done. I didn't know they could do that -- broadcast digital and analog on the same channel. I imigine the box is programmed to redirect to a different frequency at the head end. Thanks for the info. (I hope Cartoon Network is next for Digital :-D )
