i have a dish network dish 501 reciever with their standard silver remote. i can not get it to control the volume on my denon avr-2801 reciever. dish networks' only denon code 2674 does not work. a "power scan" does not come up with a code. dish network tech support says not compatable with the denon. however i have a sony integrated remote commander that controls them both nicely. perhaps the sony handles multiple types of remotes, such as uhf and infared? or is there some way to convince this remote to talk to my denon. grateful in advance for any input, zz

No, you cannot get a dish network remote to control a Denon AVR. The codes are for the DRA stereo receivers. The dish receiver will work with ir. Get yourself a MX-350 remote to give you great capability to control your system. [Link: universalremote.com]
