Hi,

I am new to Dish Network and am in need of some education. I have a Dish Pro 500 dual and a Dish 300. The Dish 500 is pointed at 110 and 119 while the Dish 300 is pointed at 61.5. I have single lines coming from both Dishes and tried to use a Switch21 to go to the receiver. As I am sure you know, it did not work and apparently I need a DP-21 Switch or something instead.

Questions?

1) Can I purchase this Switch locally, or do I have to order it online? I am in San Diego.

2) If I purchase this DP switch, will it work with my setup?

3) I have 2 runs coming from each Dish for two seperate receivers, is this necessary? Can I just use one of the runs and buy a Switch that will allow more than one receiver, IE like 4 receivers?

4) Will I be able to receive HD Programming including the former VOOM channels if I purchase a HD Receiver using the current setup?

Thanks for your help,

SBD

Firs things first. Go to menu, then setup then install. Go to check switch. Go to info It will tell you what kind of switch you have installed. Come back to us with that info, and we can go from there.

Right now I only have the DishPro 500 hooked up directly to the receiver and get both 110 and 119. The system is using DishPro Quad LNBF. The problem is figuring out how to add the Dish 300 to the system which is pointed at 61.5. I can connect to the 61.5 by itself and the 110/119 by itself direct but when I tried the SW21 SwitCh, only the 61.5 gives me a signal.

A DP34 switch works great for me to combine my Dish500 and my Dish300 (61.5).
With this you can have access to 3 sats and up to 4 receivers. Very simple.
Ebay has them or any local Dish retailer.
Good Luck!

You cant combine dishpro and legacy stuff it doesnt work. Like the other person said, you need a dp34 or dpp44 if you are going to be adding more sats or boxes (129 is coming real soon). I would get a dpp44 then your future proofed a little bit.
