Whats the deal on learning the remote codes for these receivers. I have a customer with a learning pioneer remote the learns everything except his new direct tv box.
Is it just the learning remote or are the codes from direct tv just weird. Will I have this problem when I try to use a better learning remote like the pronto 3000 and 7000.
Also what about the new Hi Def Tivo From. Are those codes learnable. Help Please

My HDTivo learned just fine to my MX-500. A couple buttons took 2 attempts, but I think the 500s batteries were heading south, that happened with another new remote I was learning, too. I didn't really test it, but I believe the HDTivo uses essentially the same codes as all the other Tivos, with a couple new commands added. So if you can learn other Tivos, this shouldn't be a problem. I had read about not being able to teach FF to other remotes, but I had no real problems at all.

Don't know about the other receivers.

Spiky, the D-10 and H-10 aren't tivos, and don't use the tivo code. You shouldn't have any problems learning these commands with universal remote. The last pioneer universal remote was probably the CU-AV200, man it couldn't learn a thing.

I know, I only commented on the HDTivo question. The last line in the OP. And then I clearly stated I didn't have an answer for the other 2 receiver models.

Am I on Candid Camera or something? I swear, nobody understands a thing I type this week. Looks the same as ever to me.
