The code for Inisgnia TVs for the Comcast 3-in-1 remote is 0171. It's one of the Sylvania ones, but it works. Thank God.

I have an Insignia NS-20CLTV. Has anyone had success in programming the DirecTV remote to work with this TV? I have tried and tried to program the remote using various codes and 991 search method but have been unsuccessful. I have a standard DirecTV receiver. If I purchase a "learning" universal remote, which one would you suggest?

Of course the white directv remotes don't have a learning model. sorry you're out of luck. Cheap learning remotes with built-in code for the dtv receiver include, the Sony rm-vl600, URC R7 & R5, ofa urc-6960.

Edmunds,
Thank you, I am purchasing the URC R7 today. You were a great help. Now, I can quit trying to make the DirecTV remote work with the Insignia.

I just bought a, insignia flatscreen (NS-20CLTV)...clearance, on display from bestbuy, so I didn't get the original remote, they gave me some rca universal remote. I have gone through so many codes my head is spinning and nothing has worked. I can't do the "learning" thing because I don't have the original remote. I don't know what to do, I can't turn it on/off, or anything. I don't want it for directv or anything, I just want it for tv/dvd use like volume, channel, input, on/off. Why is this so complicated? Please help.

Get a learning remote, go back to the store with extra batteries and use their remote to teach yours. Or buy a new oem remote, its pretty cheap here: [Link: newremotecontrol.com]

Hello,
I just purchased a Syntax Olevia LT26HVX and would like to use my Sony rm-y140 RF remote with it. This is the old directv remote that came with the Sat-A50 package. Does anyone have the 3-digit code for this remote?
Thank you
