Do you think the URC-8820($15) by "One-for-all" would work? I can find those on- line for half the price of the URC-R5($30) by "Universal". They both say 'learning.' That should really be all I'm looking for, right?

you'll have to teach all commands from the directv receiver remote as well as the Tv commands. You can learn between 70 and 100 commands to the 8820. Yes the 8820 will work fine.

I have Dish 622 DVR remotes and am unable to program my Hanspree 32" HDTV LCD,Olevia 37 inch HDTV, or my Insignia 20" CRT TV. Tried power search (no luck), tried Sansui, Tatung, RCA, Philips codes with no luck. There are NO codes for any of the 3 codes I have in the manuals for the remote. Any help on any of the 3 TV's would be appreciated.

Good information here ;)

Insignia NS-20FTV (date code 7B02) using Dish Network remote 3.0 IR (non-DVR) programmed w/Emerson code 720 works great!

Things I saw when researching indicates that these units are built by multiple different Chinese manufacturers using different IR interfaces. I got very lucky it seems.

Best buy best buy best buy, sigh :-p First off I like the Insignia I bought, but 1) they sent the wrong remote for it. sigh 2) there needs to be some kind of support thru the bestbuy website for the Insignia brand if theyre going to sell it. And 3) I finally found a 4 digit code that worked on my universal remote. In my case it was 1024
Hope it helps you guys.

I tried the instructions in the Dish Network manual for "scan for device codes" and discovered the correct code is 721 for the Insignia NS-LCD19 19" LCD TV.
That's for Dish Network remote 6.0 IR/UHF PRO.

Good luck!

Hi !
I have an Insignia NS - 20CLTV. I also have Dish Network. Neither I or the installation guy could get my Dish Remote to work this TV. Furthermore, my manufacturer's remote has stopped working with the TV. I really need the "sleep" function from the original remote, and if the Dish remote worked the TV that would be a bonus. First question, anyone know how the dish code and how to imput the code? Second question, is possible that the IR receiver on the TV went out?

Please advise, Thanks
Thanks For your help!!

There is a listing PDF listing for remote codes for Insignia sets. They are located at the following address.

[Link: insignia-products.com]

Unfortunately, I have the Insignia, model ns-20cltv. According to this listing from Insignia, the only way to program a remote for this tv is to use a "learning" universal remote. If you are not familiar with these you actually point the original remote at it and "copy" the ir emitter setting into the new remote.

Hope this helps.
