I own the Mitsubishi VS-70803 and have been hearing all sorts of things about how Mitsu has abandoned their HDI interface technology and are requiring me to get a converter (when it becomes available) in order to get HD TV on Direct TV (Satellite)EVEN WHEN THEY RELEASE THE MITSUBISHI SATELLITE RECEIVER IN EARLY 2000. Have any of you Mitsu owners been following this? I have a very big problem with this especially because I just bought my TV 4 months ago. They had to have already made all of their interface decisions even while they continued selling the VS-XX803 line.

Yea... and we were promised the SR-HD500 in August. Doesn't surprise me any. Keep me posted. I love my 50803 Diamond Series but I am fed up with having to pay for proprietary that I WAS TOLD would be Mitsi's standard.

If you want to get the real skinny on this B.S. that Mits is pushing, check out Paul Carlton's " Free converter for all 1st Generation Mitsu owners" thread at www.digitaltheater.com under the Video Components forum. Scot
