Okay, I'm definitely getting OMNI 2 (44-1), currently mapped to an obviously temporary channel of 1-1. I am not getting anything on OMNI 1 (64-1).

Hmm, jimdoo. You're in Buffalo and that's another TO station than CBC. Cool! What's your antenna setup?

yep i'm getting OMNI2 on 44-1 at 100% and 30dB over here in Niagara. It's cool that all their promos in between shows for the Omni channels are actually in HD! (farther ahead than most the national US networks)

this is completely unexpected and exciting. I wonder if OMNI 1 is soon to follow.

2 story home w/ my CM4228 on the roof pointed North. I actually am not getting it any longer. However, I hope this is a sign that I can possibly get ctv when the leaves fall off- :)

^^ jimdoo when i first went to 44-1 it was at 100% and 30dB, now its dipped down to 80% and 25dB. I remember MYTV was doing this with their test signal, raising and lowering the power.

my guess is that when they are on the air for good, you will see the power at max again and should be able to get it.

OMNI 2 is currently at 2.0 sound, sadly. I hope they go 5.1 eventually.

^^ for what? so they can broadcast Letterman in 5.1?

before worrying about sound, OMNI needs to start getting some true High Def programs showing on their network.

True. For example, OMNI 1 carries Wheel Of Fortune which is now available in HDTV, and yet they still only broadcast it in SD (as does WKBW). Jeopardy *is* shown in HDTV on CFTO (and right about now I'm sad they dropped Wheel).

By the way, did anyone else notice that Air Farce is now shown in HD on CBC? Looks great!

Only my second post:-)
I was watching 69 analog a few days ago and an onscreen message at the beginning of the Chinese news said (in English) it was in HD. They have lots of newscasts throughout the day in various languages. I haven't seen one in digital yet.

On my Samsung SIR-TS360 I am getting normal video and audio. On my RCA DTC-100, there is no audio unless I select an alternate audio track. The same thing happened for a couple of days, a few months ago with CFTO(CTV) on my Samsung but not the RCA. Right now, the signal is popping in and out on the Samsung. It was solid a few minutes ago. Maybe they are still tuning their transmitter. I am near Dundas and Greenwood, using a somewhat broken UHF outdoor antenna. The rotatator cable is broken and it's pointed in the wrong direction. I normally do get a good signal on 69, which I'm fairly certain is from the same location on the Bank of Montreal.

Update: I just took another look at the RCA and the audio tracks are now identified as English and French. The English one is going on and off. The French labelled one is solid.

This is still happening today. I watched it for hours last night and the second audio track was solid. Most of the locally produced commercials and news were in HD except "national" ads for Rogers products like cellphones. Lots of HD content too except "Letterman" was an SD feed. The CBS logo is in a different place that on the WIVB HD version.

I have received this email from someone else today, but don't see anything here yet.

"OMNI 1 HD is apparently being tested on UHF Ch. 64 as well."

I know they say by November, but does anyone know the exact date that WNLO is going to be live by?

I also wonder how that will affect their subchannels. Obviously WIVB will only be on 39, and WNLO only on 32, thereby dropping the WNLO subchannel. I wonder if they'll keep doppler radar on one, both, or none.

My gut says that 23-3 becomes CBS and 4-3 becomes CW

basically keep the SD feeds up but have it by provider...

23-1 CW-HD
23-2 Radar
23-3 CBS-SD

4-1 CBS-HD
4-2 Radar
4-3 CW-SD

They've done that arrangement in the past (briefly).
