Channel surfing here in St. Catharines last night and this morning...I can pick up this channel, 15-4! My TV says the picture is in 1080p and the audio (if there was any) is Dolby Digital

Apparently 15-4 is NOT Star Ray TV. I emailed them to say I was getting their signal and they believe it's coming from CHCH TV 11.

Good News if you can get it; Bad News, it blocks out CHCH Hamilton.

Which would you prefer?

CHCH any day, now another reason for me to hate Toronto and all it stands for.
It only seems to block if the weather is spotty.

Sorry for the mis-information.

Star Ray's physical broadcasts is  RF   but their virtual channel is ;

doesn't interfere with CHCH.

I don't get this station myself, but a friend living downtown has told me about this.

Sorry, again.

Not a problem, OBICO, but then if 15-4 is CHCH, what are they doing: any idea?

OK, then it is still the RF15 on Grand Island you told me about earlier.

WBNF-CD Buffalo does broadcasts as

RF 15-3 as 480i with DD2 audio, and
RF 15-4 as 1080i with DD5.1 audio.

CHCH broadcasts as RF 15-3 as 1080i with 5.1 audio.

Footnote: Star Ray's VX9AMK broadcasts as 480i on RF 22.

Maybe when I've got the time next weekend, I'll do a rescan on UHF 15, see if that makes any difference, may have to manually edit one of the files for the capture card in Notepad.

Has anyone tried this antenna before?
[Link: digiwavetechnology.com]

It's supposed to do up to 140 KM range. Anyone know if it actually does? I still have trouble picking up certain stations with my Channel Master 4228.

...the best solution for home reception and digital 'portable' TV reception.
                                            $93.00 through Walmart.ca

A reminder for those of you who move your antenna to gain additional channels - you should use the 'channel-add' option (available on selected TV models). When you rescan, you end up erasing the previous RF-Virtual channel assignments.

Email from WBXZ's Mr. Richie regarding future interference from CIII-41 Toronto on RF .

"We will apply for a new channel as soon as the FCC window opens."

Doesn't mention if he wants a full power station which would Probably mean VHF.
The FCC window doesn't open until after the frequency transitions.

Did someone at CHCH "kick out the plug"? I turned in my TV just before 6:AM and there's no signal.

Experienced the same problem this morning.

As for channel , it is using the H.264 codec,  "At some point last decade, H.264 was made an optional part of ATSC 1.0 that almost nobody has implemented, though Mexico permits it." - T.E.  Some 4K TVs can pick up the Video (test pattern) and audio tones; not intended for public consumption.

H.2645 will be the codec used in ATSC 3.0.

The lifting of the freeze allows full power and class A stations that were not repacked following the Broadcast Incentive Auction to file minor modification applications to expand their signal.
