TO BE DETERMINED will not air (in Buffalo anyway) until March.
The channel’s partners through QYOU include Jukin Video, Legendary Digital Networks (home of Nerdist & Geek and Sundry), Whistle Sports, Kinonation, Zoomin’ and Canvas Media Studios.Sinclair said TBD will have a digital streaming component as well.

So true. I wish they would add a channel with a lineup as METV. I missed all those old shows like Gilligan's Island, The Munster's and Lost in Space.

Anyone notice anything strange with CHCH the past several weeks? It starting showing up on channel 15-3 instead of the usual 11-1 on one of my ATSC tuners so I put TSReader on it and sure enough it detected the TSID setting in the PSIP PAT table does not match the TVCT TSID value (it should be 17091 (0x42C3) btw).

Some tuners don't care, others apparently do.

Hi. Any one else lose Fox 29.1 and it's subchannels? I don't seem to be able to pick this up anymore even after a rescan. Something going on with Fox?

For those of you who are new to over-the-air terrestrial television, note the following warning when re-scanning.

The Virtual channel may actually broadcast on a different Radio Frequency (RF) channel than its virtual channel, such as   broadcasting on RF channel .

When you re-scan your TV or converter box, you end up erasing the previous found links between the virtual channel and RF channel.  For example, if you scan your TV and successfully receive channel 39, but can't get channel , you would move your antenna in another direction then have to re-scan to pick up .

However, you might discover you lost channel 39; your TV has reset channel 39 to its default RF  when you rescanned the second time.  Your TV is now looking for channel 39 on RF  not on RF .

Some TVs have a manual RF channel edit process which is preferable in situations like this.  Otherwise it is a tedious back and forth task.

So, is Comet TV gone as a sub-channel? Or is it moving to a different sub-channel? I don't mind this channel.

By a unanimous vote, the FCC launched proceedings in February on proposed rules that would permit television broadcasters to deploy ATSC 3.0 on a voluntary, market-driven basis as long as they continue to offer existing digital ATSC 1.0 signals in simulcast mode. As part of that plan, MVPDs would be required to maintain carriage of ATSC 1.0 signals but would not be required to carry signals in ATSC 3.0 format. In addition to soliciting comment on these rules, the FCC also requested input on (1) the tentative conclusion that an ATSC 3.0 tuner mandate for new television receivers is not needed, (2) the extent, if any, to which ATSC 3.0 transmissions would interfere with existing DTV operations, and (3) whether broadcasters should be required to educate their viewers about ATSC 3.0 deployment.
The REPLY comments are due June 08.

► Voluntary Use. We propose to authorize voluntary use of ATSC 3.0 transmissions and toincorporate by reference the relevant portions of the ATSC 3.0 standard into our rules. We seek comment on which components of the standard should be incorporated into our rules.

► Local Simulcasting. We propose to require “local simulcasting” for stations that choose to deploy Next Gen TV transmissions so that broadcasters will continue to provide their existing  ATSC 1.0-based services to their viewers

Since ASTC 3.0 appears to be voluntary, it would seem that a station's originating transmitter will remain 1.0, and a lighthouse station will carry all of the market's 3.0.  In Buffalo, it would mean that WNYO's transmitter in Cowlesville on RF  would need to be received to pick up all of Buffalo's ATSC 3.0 signals.

Does anyone know if Bell cuts it's transmission power at night? Although I am in a badspot relative to the cn tower I get channel 9 reliably during the day with the vhf attachment on my aerial. Just curious

Not to my knowledge. I'm in St. Catharines and get Channel 9 fine all the time. 100% signal strength on a 25 year old Delhi 929 which is one of those old school 13 long UHF/VHF/FM antennas people took down in the 90's, and below that I get 87% with an Electronic Master 4 bay with built in pre amp. Both antennas sit on a 30 foot tower.
