Thank you both for giving me so much information. I appreciate it. My TV does have the ability to add channels after the initial scan, so that won't be a problem. Have always planned on using RG6 and a CM7777 from reading posts here and other sites. Just going to think it over for a while, but I am leaning toward the HBU55 (which Bill recommends and lines up with keaster's prescription as well) with a rotor to start off with and go from there. If I find the right spot great than it will mostly be stationary, but I think it makes sense to have the option to turn it via remote. I will keep you posted when the decision/installation is complete.

FYI Bruce - If you can record it or if you are a night owl, they show the stooges from 3-5am every Saturday morning on WGRZ 2-2.

Lately, CTV has been going black consistently at 12:05 a.m., just as The Daily Show begins.

CTV is doing some heavy duty work overnight. Last week they said 4-6 weeks, so 3 to 5 move weeks now. :-(

CJMT-DT Toronto – Technical changes

1. The Commission approves the application by Rogers Broadcasting Limited to amend the broadcasting licence for the digital English-language television undertaking CJMT-DT Toronto by changing the channel of its transmitter from 51 to 40 and increasing its average effective radiated power from 18,100 to 19,500 watts. All other technical parameters remain unchanged. The Commission received interventions in support of the application.

Looks like we need a chart update...

While it was 'nice' to see the CRTC post two of their own commissioners' dissenting comments, it's still a bit of a farce. What don't they approve with a rubber stamp? Oh, wait, I forgot; hiring a new $300,000/year chairperson. Insert seething sarcasm here.

And this is amusing:
The transmitters must be operational at the earliest possible date and in any event no later than 24 months from the date of this decision, unless a request for an extension of time is approved by the Commission before 26 January 2014. In order to ensure that such a request is processed in a timely manner, it should be submitted in writing at least 60 days before that date.

Does the CRTC have a person dedicated to writing ultra-polite restrictions? Why do they even state that extensions can be requested -- is two years not long enough?!! Just stating the procedure for requesting an extension is an invitation for BHell to request one.
I'll be amazed if we see any new transmitters in operation before 2014, but you can bet the simsub'ing will begin immediately, whether permitted or not.

I don't know what they are talking about in the background statement on the submission...the current coverage is not anywhere near Oshawa.

Well, you've been wrong about the CBC, I still don't see PSIP from them in the
OSD. ;)

Am in Niagara-on-the Lake.
Receive all the Buffalo channels except last night and today unable to receive WIVB ( 4.1) but can receive 23.1 their sister station. Is WIVB having equipment problems last night and today?

CBC's program data is there in EIT/ETT when I do a TSReader scan, and it's present on all 3 my ATSC tuners. I know there are some devices it doesn't seem to work with - no idea if it's something funky in the PSIP or something not quite right with the tuner firmware. I've heard of other channes/tuner combinations that have the similar issues.
