Sounds like the atmospheric conditions have been favorable (i.e. tropo). People in Buffalo are getting slightly stronger signals from the Rogers channels (CITY and Omni), but nothing too great. And in reading other forums, people in Toronto are getting channels from Erie, PA and even Cleveland (gosh, I wish we had the advantage of the lake like they have). If these channels have moved to the CN Tower, I don't think they've given much of an advantage.

OTA status 14-dec-2011 for Aurora. CITY TV ch 57 is back since yesterday. The move back to CN tower restores weak signal often not received while using FCP. It looks to be rock solid. Same for CH47. CH23 from Buffalo is rock solid in Aurora . All other Buffalo stations are intermittent depending on Atmospheric conditions. CH17 and CH 4 can be excellent one day and none existent another day. CH 2 and Ch 7 appear less frequently but can be excellent at times. CH11 is non-existent since cutover. Channels 3 , 5, 9 , 19, 25 ,41 are all rock solid.

Antenna Tv is now listing WGRZ 2.2 as their new affiliate on their big map. They begin broadcasting on January 1/12. [Link: antennatv.tv]

For me, CityHD has improved from a 28% signal strength to a 50-53% indication. 50% is usually good for rock solid reception but City still has occasional drop-outs. Highly improved OMNI 1 no apparent change for OMNI 2.

It would seem, then, that the move to the CN Tower is complete for CITY and Omni 1. Omni 2 wasn't supposed to move until it got the green light to go to Channel 40.

Thanks for the recomendation disney_locator but on this particular thread I do not think that not even once on this already extremely lenghty almost 200 pages thread the word satellite was ever written. In any case Welcome to the forum and Fhanks again. ` BTW following your logic I will also recommend to our male forum members to follow this link, http://www.viagra.com/, in case they have problems later tonight, lol. Just kidding of course, lol. Keaster , I would like to know when CHCH will boost the signal , even if it is SD news!.

Supposedly Rogers has confirmed they are up on the CN Tower. What you get now as far as signal goes, is what you are going to get for a long, long time.

To buffalofan19. You are probably right about the signal level expectations. However, we can only hope that some of the Cdn channels will raise their power levels to match the Buffalo stations.

I measured with a SLM levels of those stations and found little, if any difference. That was confirmed by actual reception. This is in the city of Buffalo.

Years from now, you might as well kiss recording OTA TV goodbye thanks to ATSC 3 |

Here east of Albion,NY, 47 and 57 remain markedly stronger than before the CN Tower move - it isn't the atmosphere, it's HIGHER. I wouldn't expect it to make much difference in the immediate Toronto area, in easy "line of sight." I'm guessing that CITY raised their transmission power, too.
