see the below thread on long cable run problems, or even not so long cable run problems , so as to maximize your input signal at your dss rcvr...applicable to directv and dishnetwork systems......this , as it has for us, will intensify ur signal strength, thereby somewhat increasing the luminesence and sharpness of the resulting picture on your display device, by increasing the IF gain....it will turn a conventional installation into an optimum hi-end installation, suitable for big screen t.v's, and single gun and 3 gun projector
video display devices...we use larger dishes & multi-switcher/amps on almost all installs....and it works well please read below

Billy:

I might just be bleary-eyed this morning after a couple of glasses of wine last night but I can't seem to locate the thread you mention here. I would love to read it. Can you help me out (or repost if necessary)?

Thanks much,

Whoops! I told you I was bleary-eyed. Had to check the responses to my own post was all! (Well, had to hit the refresh button, anyway.) Thank you for the considered response to my post, Billy. Your input seems to add to the consensus that I have a voltage problem (amoung others). I'll give Jayco a call and see what they have to offer. Thanks too, for your input about a larger sat dish. I think you're onto something there, too, as I'm far north (NW corner of WA State) with an elevation angle of 31 degrees so I'm sure a larger dish would help with the signal strength.

I'll let everyone know how the thing works out once I locate and install the necessary items.

Dave
