I have a RCA Sat Receiver and a Sony Plasma PFM42B2. When I change the setting in the type of monitor (in the receiver) from 4:3 to 16:9 the image does not change at all. The widescreen movies look the same as if it were 4:3 but streched. Is there somethinhg else to do in the receiver to get the widescreen images look normal or this setup is just for HD broadcast?

Unless it is an RCA DTC-100 high definition receiver and it's hooked up to the screen with the componant input, then no it will not effect it. I'm a system designer in NY. If you have any further information email me @ [email protected]. I'll be happy to help.

Then, why this one has this feature, I wonder...
