I purchased a Mitsubishi TV with a built in HD Receiver for cable/Air. Is it possible to get Directv HD without having to fork out another $1,000 bucks for the Directv HD Receiver? Your help is appreciated.

Well, yes and no. No, you need to fork out more cash. Yes, those receivers cost far less than $1000. [Link: cgi.ebay.com] is an example. I keep reading where people claim they are $450, not sure where.

Best Buy has a Hughes HDTV/DiercTV reciever for $499...I have seen it for $450 on sale though. See Link: [Link: bestbuy.com]

Don't know where you are located but I think I saw it at the Good Guys (Nor Cal) recently for $449.
