It has come to my attention that there is some sort of incompatibility between Cable's new HD box and Toshiba TVs. My client has a Toshiba 36HFX71 HDTV that is fed by a Cable HD box, Denon DVD, and a JVC VCR. My problem resides in the picture produce from the component output of the cable box. The image has a slight hour glass shape to it, and a thin translucent horizontal line the runs across the bottom of the screen. The line rises and falls in direct corolation to the brightness of the image.
There are no options to adjust a thing that could help in the Cable box! The menu options are that of the regular box. The DVD image is flawless through both component inputs on the TV. The image has identical problem through both with the Cable. The Cable composite output is flawless. Every cable has been check and swapped, and the Cable box has been swapped. Strangely enough, any Cable HD box works fine with the Toshiba 65HX81 that my client has, but not with the 36HFX71. There is nothing left to swap. There for I have concluded the incompatibility. HELP!!!!
