I live in Santa Barbara Ca. and apparently there is no way to receive anything OTA in HD where I live. I have been planning to get either Dish or DirecTV to get the Superbowl and NBA Finals in HD. ABC has both and from what I have read and been told by Dish and people at CC, I cannot get ABC HD unless I receive it OTA. Is this true? Am I outa luck? How can I watch the Superbowl and the NBA Finals in HD without moving?

You are out of luck because neither Dish or DTV carry ABC HD. However, you might consider the canadian sat providers. Here's a link with more info. [Link: global-cm.net]
