Okay, so I'm a newbie. I admit it.
Can I program my TiVo remote to control basic functions on my NEC 42MP4 plasma screen? I've followed the programming instruction from TiVo, but none of the NEC codes work. The remote can theoretically turn the TV on/off and control volume, but so far, no joy.
Any suggestions?

If that's a brand new model plasma screen, you may be out of luck. The Tivo remote is actually a couple years old now most likely. It may not have any codes for your TV.

Assuming the Tivo remote cannot learn commands, you may be better off with a learning remote like a pronto or whatever.
