All I get for programming guide on channels 1 to 99 is "Regular Service". I went through the Directv Installation menus (Mits SR-500 receiver) and have set up Comcast under the Cable listing. Should I being getting program guide information for the Comcast cable? If yes, any suggestions on proper set-up will be appreciated.

No, if you get your locals via cable, you won't see any guide info. The only locals with info, are the ones delivered by directv. Your receiver combines the signals of directv and cable to make it seem like one signal.

Anybody out there know someone on the inside at DirecTV? I have a client who was getting a complete Adelphia cable program schedule on his Sony HD100. A couple of weeks ago, it reverted to only the words "Cable Programming."
I spent some time on the phone with Sony about another issue with the HD100, and they suggested what I thought, which is that this is a DirecTV issue. The DirecTV babe I spoke with took a few minutes of convincing logic to bother to check with someone else there who might know, and they said that some kind of agreement between DirecTV and the cable programmer had changed. Sounds plausible, which could mean they have no idea and made it up.
Anybody out there? Anybody?

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything. "The biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place." -- G. “Bernie” Shaw |

On the same note, my Pany TU-HDS20 will try to incorporate cable programs into the "ADVANCED" (yeh, right) program guide. Problem is that when I scan for my zip code I get a guide for a cable system about 40 miles away. I got my own cable once, but lost it in the latest software upgrade. Panasonic now says that the feature doesn't work reliably. And there is no way to manually add the proper network designations --. Don't you just love technology?
