Ooooh, were you the kid that kept getting picked on in high school? I was here first!!! So does this make it your "turf"? I never said your way wouldn't work, I just said it didn't make any sense. I think it's great that you try and help people, I just fear the results when they actually take your advice. I'm not very convinced you know anything about signal distribution, matrix switching, and control paths. It's not the pro's forum, but it's also not the amateur's forum. Seeing as how the guy hasn't posted anything else, who even knows if he went ahead and did anything. I think he thought it would be a lot easier and cheaper than it really could be. Either way he does it, your weird-ass way, or mine, it's still going to cost money. Not nearly as much as what some others on here spend with their house systems, not even close to mine. I'm not gonna go away, be glad I don't answer many posts in this forum, but the ones I do, you better hope we agree on stuff. Now I'll let you get back to running your forum....wait....I forgot...it's not YOUR forum.

Even simpler....get a Channel Plus 3025 Video Distribution system....it has EVERYTHING you need built in, 2 stereo modulators, video distribution, ant input combining, and 5 RF outputs. All for about 130 bucks. Can't get much simpler than that.

Also, that system has built in IR repeating facilities, and it can all be done through the coax already in place. 5 rooms and 2 dss receivers worth of IR repeating, would cost about $275 extra. $300 some dollars for this reliable and this complete of a system can't really be touched by anything else.

Edmund --

How the hell narrow is your monitor? Or are you using 32 point type?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

That shouldn't matter. HTML should ignore soft returns, such as a large font, a low resolution, or a narrow window would produce. According to the Source Code, his posts have hard returns, which suggest that he's hitting the Return that often.

I'm sorry Ernie, I thought you were talking about the tv monitor. I'm using
a webtv, built into my ultimatetv box.
All I have is the 40 character across
box, under the heading "your message".
I can not make it any bigger. I've made
over 900 posts, and I've gotten use to it. If you want to tear me apart, go
head, since I jumped the gun.

Listen snuffles, you seem to like attacking people who are trying to help.
And you do it from afar, self in your
own crib, I believe thats a little
cowardly.

Holy crap, look at how wide that sentence is. I'm not attacking you edmund. If I were attacking you, you'd know it. I attack stupid people that are as closed minded as you. I offered an excellent solution to a simple problem and you thought I was on crack. Sorry that your method made a lot less sense than mine did. But your real world solutions aren't very real world. I could break it down a lot more as to why it wouldn't make any sense, but that would be a waste of my time. You insist on calling me snuffles....why? I have no idea. I didn't attack you until you attacked me. You offered a possible solution, and I gave a better one. You were mad and didn't seem to think my idea would work. I was just defending myself. Don't get mad cause I have better real-world solutions than you....and cause I can type a wider sentence than you. So...homie....go chill in your bad-ass crib.

You kept putting down the way I suggested, and when you finally gave
an example, I never said word to put
it down. Reread it, I did state an
example as how you might do it, because you didn't give one. At the time. I read
your posts, I like what you have to say.
But when you attack, it doesn't help
the original poster. Cold can apply
that you are cold,or have a cold.
I believe this thread is dead.

It's very cold in Minnesota in the winter time....that's what the name implies. It's a well-known fact that it gets cold here. I never put you down, I didn't say you were a bad person, I just said your ideas on how to do it didn't make the most sense. With my original idea, you said combiners suck...and then decided that he shouldn't use combiners with my system and told me how he'd have to do it WITHOUT a combiner. Well...using a combiner was part of the plan in the first place. There's nothing wrong with combiners, they're used ALL OVER the place. And I then pointed out how especially with a combiner, if channels 3 and 4 weren't in use there, he could get both his sat receivers, along with any other channels he wants at each individual tv, seperately. You should be a little more open to ideas that are superior to yours. If you had an idea better than mine, I'd support it with no problem. I didn't make any personal attacks at you until you started calling me unwanted names. Just....chill dude.

CHIL......DREN ! ! ! !

no, edmund, I did not want a piece of you, as you realized. I didn't even read all of these messages when I wrote about the width; I just kept seeing it as I scrolled down, and got interested in that fact.

ItsCold, try to avoid writing so your name should be ItScold. You speak of being a professional. Do you ever let yourself deal with other professionals or even more ignorant clients this way? Patience is good.

As for spelling, ItScold, let's get really petty: you spelled separate as seperate, and an ellipsis is only three periods...unless it ends a sentence.... And you spelled its as it's several (severel?) times.

Now, can we get back to ignoring this chain because the guy who started it all has never written reply one?

Ernie
