I am in the process of updating my round satellite dish to an oval one in the anticipation of HDTV in the future. My problem is it has a built in multiplexer so I have four cables coming out of the dish and I would like to incorporate my local cable company along with the dish. Will I have to split the cable four times to go to my four receivers? Does anyone one have a solution for me? Another twist is that I have an antenna that I would also like to hook up but just to one receiver. I know it sounds like I have over kill with dish, cable, and antenna but you would have to live here to believe it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can use diplexers that are available through Radio Shack stores to merge the cable and satellite signals for the four receivers. If your multiplexer has an antenna input on it already, then you will only need four diplexers at each reciever. If not you will need eight diplexers, one at each receiver and then one at each of the four outputs on the multiplexer. As far as the antenna signal to the one receiver, you will need a second line for that. I hope this is of some help.

Run the antenna to the one location , get a multi switch that has 3 in and 4 or 6 out . run sat a/b into multiswitch, run catv into ant/catv in to multiswitch.Run 1 cable to each tv/sat location. At each tv/sat receiver install one diplexor / sat to sat in ant/cable to cable in on tv or sat receiver.
