I recently bought a mitsubishi 55" big screen and have a dish network model 4000 receiver. Can Anyone tell me how to program my mitsubishi remote to control my dish network receiver?

thanks in advance!

I know the small (black 4900,3900 etc, etc) Echo ird's can do both. Are you guys sure the big clunker's (4000 one of them) can't do both? I have never tried with the grey boxes so you could be right but I thought all the RF one's could do both.

You need to modify the 4000 to allow it to receive IR. I believe instructions on this can be found at dbsforums.com, IIRC.

Echostar finally changed this stupidity when they came out with the next version, 4700.

Later versions of the model 5000 had both IR and UHF built in as well.
