Does anyone have any codes for the high def Hughs DSS receiver. I am looking for an easier way to activate the 1080i output. Is there an easier way than going 5 pages into the menu changing it there. There must be, right?

Nope. Not on Hughes. Only one I know of is the RCA DTC-100.

Is the only way to change that STB to HD is to go that deep into the menu. Thats crazy. How do they expect the end user to deal with that?

I have the Mit HD box and you can use the action key and one of the number buttons (can't remember which one) and it will switch to 1080i and back to 480i. I have set up a macro on the MX-500 so I can swith between the two with one button.

If you look in the Pronto forum you will find the ccf for this, and also a number of posts. You send the "Action" code followed by either HD-on or HD-off codes.

can you program the pronto to switch from hd to sd for ther hughes box with a mitsubishi hd televison? with the original remote, when you puch action, input, it toggles the tv to DTV input, and the hughes to 1080I output. also, it sync's them up. tried learning it inot the pronto as a macro sequence, but it would only change the hughes.

A Pronto macro for this would have a single button aliasing two codes (or buttons)

alias the Hughes HD code
alias the Mits DTV input code

Just look for the codes in ccf files from the file section of the Pronto forum and copy them into your own ccf

There is an 'Action' key on the Hughes E86 remote that let's you directly swtich between 1080i and SDTV. I don't remember the number key that it's assigned to because I'm here at work.

Anyway - it only takes 2 key presses.

1. The 'Action' key followed by
2. The key that has a yellow HD/SD label on it.
