Is there a way to bring in just one RG-6 cable from an outside mounted HD antenna and HD dish? I was thinking a splitter but haven't heard of it being done.

Yes you can use a good quality multiswitch with antenna in and a diplexor.

For one TV set, yes. Use the outdoor multiswitch that came with the dish, then diplex one of its outputs with the HD antenna lead. And the antenna must be passive.

Your question makes me think, which can be a dangerous thing. However -- Are you trying to supply HD signals to more than one HD receiver? You don't say that but I don't see a reason why more than one wire would be a possibility unless you are trying to go to more than one receiver.
