I have two dish receivers, the 4722 and 2700. The problem is that the 2700 IR controller changes the channel on both systems. Changing the remote address on the 4722 receiver only affects the RF addresses apparently.

Has anyone found a work-around for this problem?

I have the same receiver setup. I have them both in one room. The 2700 is for upstairs, and is controlled by an RF OFA 9800 remote. I tried changing the 4700 to a different address, but when it hit the 2700 it still changed channels. I ended up changing it back and covering the front of the 2700. I think like you said it is for changing the RF address, if you had two 4700's, I think that is the advantage. I have to try again, couldn't remember the details but I remember being dissapointed it didn't work as I hoped.

The problem is not the receivers it's the remote, the remote that comes standard with a 2700 rec. is non-addressable, the universal that comes with the 4700 is! you need to unplug one of the receivers, then using the programable remote set the address to which ever # you like. then you plug in that rec. and unplug the one you just programmed, then using the same remote you programm the 2nd rec. for a second set of codes (another #)

Now comes the kicker, you either teach your fancy learning remote to control the receiver that goes with the main system or you buy a second Dish Net remote that can be addressed. (about $45)

Plug in both units and throw away the remote that came with the 2700. (or at least take out the batteries) if you don't the next time you pick it up and start to use it it will de-program both units and you get to start all over again.
