I am hooking up a HD Hughs STB with a Fujitsu PDS5002. The Hughs has its HD component. Do I need an adapter to hook it up to the plasma or can I put it into the component in of the plasma??

It should be a direct connection between the 2 units. At worst you may need BNC adaptors to join the component colour lead to the Plasma.
