Anyone know any information on device to add an additional HD source like a recorder or progessive scan DVD?

This is confusing. Are you asking about a switchbox for running 2 component (HD/progressive) wires into one input on your TV?

You can almost get a new A/V receiver for the price of a good component video switcher. Most of the new ones switch 2 component inputs.
