I have an HD setup and when I first set it up I used the oval dish. This worked OK but I couldn't get the strength up high enough on both signals since adjusting one affects the other. In MI the weather is so crappy I need it in the 90's to avoid rain fade. So I went to 2 round dishes (It has worked in other installations) my problem is that one of the dishes seems to be locked into 110 not 119 but the reciever says it is tuned to 119 yet I can't get the HD feeds. The reciever works fine I took it to another installation and it works. Any ideas on how to make sure the signal is from the right sat bird?

B.T.W the reciever is a DTC-100 and I have 2 regular RCA's and a Sony

How about a good compass with a degree scale? Actually, you only need the degrees since you already have a good reference, the other dish.

Frustrating, I know! Been there. You obviously already have the elevation correct, just swing it west slightly and you should pick it up. You should see transponders 22 through 32. I believe the 110 only gives you about 3, can't remember which numbers. On my meter it reads the satellite name, and I have found the same situation. DirectTV does have space on the 110, they're just not broadcasting anything, but ther carrier is there, which fools the receiver. With the all-N-one oval dish, you can't get in trouble, but it's a compromise. Actually, with the oval dish, just using two simple strength meters, one each in line with each LNB, you'll find 3 spots where both meters will read great, but only one is the right combo!
Hang in there, your seperate dish method produces the best results.

Thanks guys you are both right. I went to dbsforuns and found the identical issue brought up there for older generation STB's. It appears that both were looking at 101 it kind of ticks me off that the receiver says its locked on 119 but its not. I went out and got a little sat meter so I can tune it on the roof. The key thing is I guess channel 400, if its in spanish you are hitting the right sat if its in English you are hitting the 101 dish. Thanks again for your responses.
