Does anyone know how to program discrete codes for accessing my local DTV channels (which come up as sub-channels) from a Dish 6000 HDTV receiver?

Try 0+channel+sub-channel. For instance one of my digital locals is channel 27 sub-channel 1. On the pronto I use 0271 with the usual delays between.

Kewl Beans! It works...I was just missing the extra 0 at the beginning. Thanks for your help! From what I have read, discrete power codes do not exist...do you by chance have a good workaround for this, other than just leaving the unit on?

I just leave mine on all the time. Try searching the Pronto forum. Seems like I've seen this discussed. The bigger deal in my opinion is the HD/SD toggle.

I am considering switching from DirecTv to Dish in order to receive the CBS and Showtime HD fees. I can't receive OTA digital transmission in my area. Are either of you receiving these channels through dish? Are you happy with the quality. I am very happy with the quality of the SD and HD signals from DirecTv, but would like to have some network HD programs.

Thanks,

Kris

I get both HBO and Showtime HD and am quite pleased with the PQ. I am fortunate to live where I get HD local OTA. From what I've read, in order to qualify for the CBS HD feed you must get your local affiliate to sign a waiver. I think the details can be found at the Dish web site. Might want to check into that before making a change.

I get the CBS HD feed here in Pittsburgh via Dish.
If you get your CBS local Via Dish you can order the
HD feed for $1.50/mo. I watched some of the basketball
finals and it was great. I have the CBS feed from New York.
