While this site is in it's infancy, I wonder if anyone knows of other HDTV sites which support the same high caliber communication that can be found here at remotecentral. I have the Mitsu VS-70803 HD upgradeable TV and am trying to determine the right timing (#/type of programs available vs. cost to purchase the external HD decoder) on my next theater investment. Also curious on rumores of HDTV sattelite systems. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've got a mitsu 65803 16:9 and I know your pain. Mitsu has announced a DSS/HDTV plus HDTV over air in one box. This think was supposed to ship in September. But it is being held back until directv ratifies the encoding standard. Let me know if you find more info. I am dying to get a decoder. But at $1500+ It has to be pretty damned near perfect.

Peet (sorry, I hit return on that last one by accident) I'll keep looking but do you know if the receiver/tuner will work with our T.V.s?

Try [Link: digitaltheater.com], I've found the info on this sight very useful. If you want to make posts on the board you'll have to register on to the site or you can just monitor the discussions.

Scot,

yes, this receiver will work with our sets. However, the latest is that now it won't ship until december!

Keep you posted.

It looks like Mitsu is talking about March availability on their DSS (same time as Tosh) and 1st generation Mitsu owners are going to have to spring for a converter box in order for it to work. Needless to say, I feel that Mitsu is reneging on their "future compatibility" claims on this one. I'm extremely unhappy about the fact that they are completely abandoning their HDI interface. Mitsu owners unite!
