Hi,

I had DSS installed in my house. I also have cable tv. The installer has both the cable and satellite signal coming in the same co-ax from the wall. I wanted to split the signal so I could route cable to one VCR and DSS to another. I put a Y-connector and did just that. It worked for a while and then I started getting satellite reception problems. Was this incorrect? If so, what can I do to accomplish splitting the signal?

Thanks

I suppose it depends on how strong your signal strength is -- typically a 2-way split will work fine, but in your specific case it may not. Another thing to check is how good the splitter is -- you want top quality; spend about $20-$30 to get one that has a high enough frequency range.
