Is it possible to have seperate tuning for 5 rooms? I would like to be able to seperately tune in 5 different rooms independant of the other receivers. Is it possible?....thanks.....Tony

No, Tony. Individual tuning requires individual tuners (receivers). Once you have them, you need a multiswitch with at least as many outputs as you have receivers.

Hi Larry,

I understand that, I think I wasn't explaining myself correctly. Can you have 5 or more receivers that all independtly tune on the DirectTv/Dish systems? Thanks....Tony

Yes, again make sure you have a multiswitch capable of that many outputs. Don't forget that dual-tuner receivers require two outputs. You'll probably need a 3-in/8-out unit.

You can also use a two dish set up. One with a quad out LNB and one with a standard dual LNB. It is a little pricey, but usually more reliable than the vagaries of esoteric multi-switching. You can tie the system together with a common phone line connection and still be billed as one account.

Can you simply split the single, incoming cable and hook a seperate receiver up to each split. (Similar to how cable splits their signal) A salesman at Columbia Audio/Video said this can be done.
