Hey I am torn between 3 Plasma Screens, but i have a question that if i get a HD Plasma, in order to get the HD signal would i have to hook up the reciver by way of component cables or would it be possible to do Coax.? Many thanks in advanced

You would more than likely use a RGBHV cable from the processor to the plasma unit itself.....since we only do Runco and the only other Plasma I installed was a Pioneer (hmmmm looked like a Runco....hehehehe I know what a Runco comes from) and that didnt have HD for a source I would have to say that its either RGB which usaully has Sync (HV) on the Green or an RGBHV connector.........Look into an Extron box for conversion if necessary

Jon, Most current plasmas will have both VGA multi-pin connectors (connect a PC to your plasma), and RGBHV's which feature 5 connectors. The RGBHV's usually allow you to connect only of the treminals for component (HD or Analog) use. RGBHV or component, you've got to use one or the other for HD. The cables you use will need to be 75 ohm. Coax is 75 ohm (RG-59 & RG-6 anyway) and thus it is common to use three coax cables for component HD, installing the appropriate connector at either end. Hope this helps more than confuses, plsamas really are the way to go.
