Is there a difference between the two digital cables? Like the optical cable and the coaxial digital cable? I know that the optical cable is more abundent but i know you can get adapters for this stuff, but does the coaxial have capabilities of transfering a DTS signal to the reciever? Thanks a bunch!!

Jon, yes, either can transfer anything digital. The difference is that one is electrical, and the other is optical, but a digital bitstream can carry the same DD or DTS info with either.

I prefer the coaxial myself, and yes, there are adapters that will convert either to the other. I use an optical-to-coaxial to connect the DD out from my satellite receiver (no coax) to my pre-pro (no opt).

Larry, Can you give me more information about the converter you are using? This sound like just the item I need to keep my older (fewer connections) receiver in service for a little while longer. Thanks!
