I need some assistance. I got an RCA ultimate TV receiver for christmas to add to my theater. I already have 2 RCA DRD480RE receivers in my theater. The ultimate TV receiver set up and is working fine. All my equipment is in an equipment rack in my theater and all video output is modulated onto unused cable channels so I can watch any receiver on any TV in the house if tuned to the modulated channel. All receivers are controlled by a IR distribution system that sends IR signals from receivers in each room to emitters on the equipment in the racks. That's the background of my system.

The problem I have is that the previous two sat receivers were operating on RCA code banks 5000 and 5001. This was fine with 2 receivers but now the 3rd sat receiver (ultimate TV) also operates on code bank 5000. Hence, when I send IR commands to the ultimate TV receiver it also controls the other RCA receiver. Drives my wife and kids nuts!

Does anybody know of a third code bank for RCA satellite receivers? This would fix my problem.....I think.

Thanks for your help.

Mark, Your original RCA remote should have two buttons, direct TV and Aux that will control your receivers. The directTV button is already on device code 5000. Follow the instructions for programming your remote for an auxillary component (the aux key) and you will need to put in device code 5001. Then your remote will control one receiver when the direct TV button is pushed first (device code 5000) and the other when you push the aux key first (device code 5001). You can then create devices in your pronto for sat1 and sat2 and teach the pronto the commands when you pushed directTV for one and aux for the other. The trick comes if you add a 3rd RCA receiver...which is the problem I have.

Let me know if you need more help and I can dig up my instructions for the RCA remote and walk you through the steps.

I have the exact same problem. I have a DTC-100 and an RCA UltimateTV and cannot figure out how to use both together. If anyone has a solution for this please let us know.
In response to Dan's solution, that may setup the remote but there must also be a setting on the receiver to tell it to accept the 2nd code.

Thanks
Rudmeister
