I have a DSR6000 that I've had for two months and recently I have had what could probably best be descibed as "pops" or "cracks" coming from my system. The signal seems to drop out for just a split second. This happens only once in a while and it does'nt matter if I'm watching "live tv" or a tivo program. This only happens when I'm watching something from the DSR6000, never happens when I'm watching cable or a DVD.
Has this ever happened to anyone else?
My entire system is connected to a Panamax Max 1000, Except for the phone line and the coax from my dish. (New Panamax on it's way to address these shortcomings. )
If I had to venture a guess it almost seems like the power supply on the DSR6000 is wigging out on me. I'm concerned this could have bad effects on other pieces in my system.
Please help!
Thanks in advance!

What signal strenth are you measuring from your dish? It's possible you have an obstruction that's causing your signal to be borderline. Barring that I would suspect the receiver, they are not the highest quality pieces of gear and tend to run very hot. If it's still under warranty get it replaced ASAP.
How hard can this be?

My signal strength is good, like I said it can happen when I'm watching a recorded program. It's not a loss of signal from the dish because I can rewind right after it happens and it won't do it again. Unfortunately this is more than "very rare". Sometimes this occurs two or three times an evening, then other times not at all. Weather is not a problem, it can happen on a really nice day or a lousy one. And the frequency seems to be increasing. It's also a complete signal loss, video and audio. I suppose that I'm most concerned about spikes to my T.V. and other equipment. The tivo box was only $99.00 and I bought the extended warranty, so I guess if I was sure the box was the culprit, I could return or exchange it.

My DSR6000 pops and cracks too. It does this when I change channels. I think it has to do with that split second when the signal is being tuned in when you change the channel. I think my old receiver muted the sound for a second or so when the channel was changed.

I also have a DSR6000, it has never “popped” or “cracked” until the other day, all of the sudden it POPPED! and a little smoke and a nice burning smell came out. (Let me tell you, that is a scary thing seeing smoke come out of your setup). I promptly unplugged it, called them up. They exchanged it with no questions asked. 3 days later I had my new DSR6000 (just in time for xmas). I now have it plugged into a different power source just in case. Maybe you should call them up and se if they will exchange it.

THX,
Don
