I recently bought a Samsung Note 3 which has built-in IR. I installed the latest TouchSquid version, GR Pro, on it and could not be more pleased. TouchSquid offers almost as much customization as the most advanced Pronto. The Note 3 has a powerful IR blaster, much better than earlier Samsung devices like the Galaxy Tab 2. By the way, I paid $20 for the Note 3 from Amazon.
I've tried them all, and TouchSquid GR Pro is the best of the breed by far. It's only weakness is poor documentation, but that will not be a problem for anyone who has ever programmed a Pronto.
It took me about 6 hours to get it all done including making 300 custom buttons for my CD jukebox collection. I recommend TouchSquid without reservation.

On my Note 3 I also played with Touchsquid using their trial mode. Pretty good, I will agree. But I also spent a ton of time working with AnyMote by ColorTiger and that is where I ended up. I too am pleased with it.
One thing about the Note 3... I do wish I could use the included IR to "learn" from other remotes in those cases (not many I have found) where the device is not in or not fully supported. Some other phones have the ability to do this. Any inexpensive way to add this capability, maybe through the headphone jack or the USB port, would be appreciated.
And I also read that the IR has been removed from the later Samsung devices. What a shame!
