We have a Scientific Atlanta 2200 cable box. The remote that accompanies it works fine - adjusting channels and volume and mute. I bought my elderly mom an INNOVAGE JUMBO UNIVERSAL Remote (she likes the large buttons). I have the manual, and I have tried EVERY CODE listed under the Scientific Atlanta list ( 006 036 037 038 075 136 147 ). Several of the codes will turn the unit OFF and ON and change CHANNELS - but NONE of these codes will also CHANGE THE VOLUME nor MUTE the volume. Is there some other code I can try? I'd be grateful for any ideas!

Unfortunately, as The Robman explains here, the likelihood is you're out of luck.

I've carried out a brief search of the forum and found no alternative.

  • If you've purchased the remote you'll have the manual.

  • If you have the manual you'll see that Motorola isn't listed in the cable section

  • And if you check my link above you'll find The Robman explaining why it is you'll likely be out of luck.

However, we can but try.

Brookstone supply a very similar product (likely sourced from the same place as the Innovage), the manual for which can be found here. It's a long shot, but this manual does give a code for Motorola (031) - which happens to be a Philips code for the Innovage.

If that doesn't work I suggest you try a code search. And if that doesn't work I can only suggest you individually try all the codes to see if any do.

Try the General Instrument and Jerrold cable box codes.

I've purchased a oversized remote control that is a Tracker "Ginormous" Universal remote but looks suspiciously like the Innovage jumbo remote (except of course for the "Innovage" logo). I'm trying to program it for a Scientific-Atlanta Explorer 940 Cable box and have had no luck with the codes in the Tracker manual or the Innovage manual (the manuals are similar but the codes are, oddly enough, mutually exclusive).

Has anyone had success with the Innovage on an E940 and what code worked?

Thanks
