I just bought a Toshiba (model#: 27AF45C) off a friend. With it came a Philmore PM-RC1A 6-in-1 universal remote. The problem is, he never gave me any instruction booklet with this remote, probably because he doesn't have it. Does anyone else out there have this remote and could somehow help me out? I need the codes used to program different devices, especially for my Toshiba TV. I searched around and can't find any downloads for the universal remote codes. I found this site: [Link: xdiv.com], but my remote isn't listed. It looks like the remote in this picture ( ), just my remote has a small digital clock built-in at the bottom and some of the text near the buttons are different. Right now I'm not able to switch to the video inputs for the TV. Any help would be greatly appreciated. EDIT: Just thought I'd update my old post to say this remote is crap. I found a few codes to work with my TV (207 being one) and it turns out you can only control channels, volume, mute, and power after programming. It doesn't let me use the other buttons, because they are reserved for other devices or setups like Satellite or Cable TV, etc. It's just a cheap remote...

The remote coded for a Toshiba TV are 049, 071, 072, 105, 109, 117, 118, 160, 162, 201, 207, and 232. Turn the TV ON. You can use the code search option by pressing Code until the LED flashes. Press the Power button until the TV turns off. Then press Enter. Please note that though the manual says the Input button is supposed to switch you from one device to another TV/VCR for example, I don't find it works on any device I have. It does allow most of the basic functions. I have two VCRs and a DVD player and the remote works fine for Playback, Fast Forward Recording and Rewind on all. However the Menu function only works on the TV. As well the channel up and down works fine as do the go back function but I cannot lower the volume at all. Increase it yes, lower it no. I bought the remote at a liquidation center for $4.00 so I'm not too disappointed. Since I wanted it more for the VCRs and DVD player I am still happy with it. Good Luck.

I was wondering if anyone had a manual or some codes for a Sharp TV and a Philips DVD/VCR combo?
I have the same remote as the one above. Also does anyone know the proper code search combo?

I have the manual but no way to post it as a pdf file. Please try : Auto Code Search method, e.g TV. 1. Manually turn on the device ( TV ). 2. Press and hold CODE search until red indicator stays on, then release the CODE search button. 3. Press and quickly release the TV button. The red indicator blinks off once. 4. Face the remote directly to TV. 5. Press the POWER on/off button down till the red indicator light stays on, then release your finger. 6. The red indicator will keep on flashing till TV turns off. 7. Press and release ENT ( enter ) to install the code before the next blinks. This method applies to VCR, DVD etc. You may not know the direct code but it does not a matter as long as it works. Good Luck ! Yes, the INPUT button does not work and no way to use as TV/VCR button.

Argh! I just picked up a Philmore PM-RC1 remote for my Philips TV. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the codes. After reviewing this forum and others, it also seems that my remote is unique, in that, it doesn't have a CODE SEARCH button, but rather, a SET button (which, I'm assuming, does the same thing...?). Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Peter

With no manual/instructions to work to work with I can only suggest you try the advice above.
