SUCESS!! well sort of
Got an IS-TV040928 - HDTV ready box at a discount with no remote or manual being told I could order one on-line. Well no luck there so I got a "ONEfor all" model URC 6131n remote and tired the 3 digit codes at the Insignia web site. trouble is the remote wants 4 digits so I then tried adding a '0' in front and behind the codes (Precision or Mitsubishi - 218 or 102). No luck. I tired the codes from the remotes documentation for Mitsubishi and they at least gave me a two blink feedback as suggested by the documentation. Tested with non Mitsubishi codes and no feedback so I figured I at least have brand right (Is this a good assumption?) then came back to this site/thread and jotted down some codes. tried 0463 and no luck but a 2 blink feedback. tried 0054 and SUCESS!!!!!... sort of.
the on-off works, the volume etc. works but the up and down rocker button for the chanel changing does not work. it cycles from 2 to 4 to 5 and back to 2 etc. I can however change chanels by inputting the chanel on the # keypad.
So I'd like to get the up down chanel thingy to work. any suggestions?
thanks for everyones help and hope this helps somone.

Great posts and useful information everyone.

Here's a remote solution the for Insignia IS-TV040928. ( I did the Best Buy open-box thing last week)

Went to Wal-Mart and purchased a Philips PM335 3-Device Universal Remote. Entered Mitsubishi TV code 102 (per the instructions at [Link: insignia-products.com] ) and it works perfectly!

Channel up/down, Vol up/down, Numeric input, Menu guide popup and controls, and device input popup and controls, are verified working.

With tax, the Philips PM335 cost about $8. Two AAA batteries aren't included. All said and done, the remote and batteries cost $11 - and everything works!

Hope this helps.

I have an Insignia model IS-TV 040922, and I need a programming code using my universal COX cable remote. I've tried everything, and so far I've had to use two controls, one for my cable, and the other one for my tv, please help.

Try the codes listed for Admiral/Emerson. If they don't work, try the Mitsubishi TV codes. Then if that fails, try the philips tv codes.

Please help!
I just bought an Insignia 24" TV (IS - TV040922A) and I can't find the correct code needed for use with my Time Warner Universal remote (UR4 - P360). If anyone has any information on this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Try the Emerson codes. I got the Emerson Code 135 to work with a GE universal remote model RM24977. My Insignia is model NS-20FTV.

I found the 0091 code worked fabulously with my Tivo remote and my Insignia IS-TV040922A TV. Thanks Edmund for the tip!
