Hey,
I just opened up my new IRIQ today. I was eager to try out the remote, despite all the rumors/reviews I had read. The major fear I had was the distance problem. It seems that many people have had problems with the IRIQ and its distance from components. Now, I have only tried the thing out for a few hours, but I must say I am impressed. I haven't had any of the distance problems that many people have noted. I did a quick test with the remote and my Sony television. I ended up on the opposite end of the room (at least 20 some feet) and had no problem controlling the T.V. Maybe the distance problem has something to do with certain components not responding well to the remote. Well, I just wanted to post my limited experience and wondered if anyone else had any successes/failures with the remote. Merry Christmas.

Not trying to spoil your XMAS but I do agree with you. Some components work fine and others work really bad.

What if next XMAS you get a new component that works really bad?

It should be quite obvious this remote has a problem. It may indeed be fixed in the future with a software upgrade.

If you used both remotes side-by-side the choice it pretty obvious even if the IRIQ worked properly with all devices. Ask anyone who has had both.
