My first post. Please excuse me if I, uhh..., stutter a little. I'm a bit nervous.

Seriously, mom is 87 years old and in a nursing home 'cause jher remembery stopped functiong and she's technologicaly still in the early 60's and that isn't going to change.

She's using a 30+ year old TV that's ready to die. The ONLY reason she's using this is because it has a drum tuner and that's the only thing she can remember how to use.

I tried her with a new (Zenith portable) TV and virtually any universal remote I could find that looked like it might be simple enough for her to remember and use. They all baffle her and, I gotta say, some of these look a bit confusing to me, also.

I vaguely recall several yearsago seeing a remote that only had four buttons on it, Volume up/down and Channel up/down and probably an on/off button but have not been able to locate one of these. Do they still make these, or something equally simple?

Thanks in advance, Mark from New Jersey.

I have a question regarding a Sony universal remote mentioned above in this thread, (the RM-EZ2). I got it for my Dad who has trouble with complex remotes since having some health problems, much like the lady described at the start of the thread.

I've owned and programmed several Sony universal remotes, inclluding the LCD touch screen RM-AV2100, with no troubles...but this little "simpleton" remote has me stumped. I can get the codes to work with several tv's, but not the one my dad uses. (A 1995 Mitsubishi.) (I got it to work on a 1993 Mitsubishi.)

I went through Sony's instructions several times, trying all the codes, the 'code search', and then Sony's telephone helpline, (basically a walk-through of the printed instructions.) All to no avail. The Sony remote works fine, as does the Mitsu tv factory remote. Does anyone know of additional Sony codes for Mitsubishi tv's? ...Or perhaps another solution? Thanks in advance.
