What if your JVC TV remote control doesn't have the OK button - and the "Stop" button doesn't perform the function either? I'm trying to set the clock on my new TV and it keeps asking me to press "OK," and niether the remote, nor the TV control panel have an OK button... and so I tried the "Stop" button... nothing. :(

My experience in this thread is dealing with a JVC VCR remote, can't help wih TV remote. Sounds like you don't have the original TV remote, this is what you should expect.

I suggest you get a one-for-all universal remote, it accepts codes for individual functions beyond what is mapped via the preset code.

Laura,
It would be a good idea to start a new thread with this question as it's un-related to the topic of this thread. When you start the new thread please state exactly what model of OFA remote that you have, along with the model of the JVC TV.
Rob.

We have this same model (came with our JVC HR-VP673U)
but to reduce clutter, we've been using a universal
remote for the past several years instead. Recently,
I needed a function not available on the UR, so
I got out the LP20303-008. For some reason, the
VCR no longer responds to it, though it is apparently
sending (its IR-LED flashes when viewed with a
digital camera). Any thoughts as to why the VCR
works fine with the UR, but not with its own OEM
remote?

& I'm wondering what that command might be? Programming Mode? I just picked up a like new JVC HR-VP673U, to Replace My HR-VP638 that took a hit by lightning last May (Or till when I have time to repair this something is out in the primary PS... I miss the shuttle jog)... the 638 has a very similar remote that controls every function of the 673 except for programming, there is no PROGRAM Key on the 638's remote.... as I thought for sure this remote would be fully compatable... poor design on JVC's part that the remote is absolutely necessary to program on this perticular model.

I also have the following UR's:

Hughes HRMC8 IR
Sony RM-V22
Sony RM-V8A

Along with a remote from my Toshiba 4700 DVD Player, each one of these remotes has a different nitche to fill, I would like to s-can them all for a single remote, however right now, is there any readily available (& cost effective) UR that has the capability to program the HR-VP673U?... or will I have to look for a LP20303-008?

Thanking you all in advance.

I have a JVC HR-XV31EK which came with the multibrand remote.

We have a bush widescreen tv (lcd22tv005) and would like to program it to operate this.

As its code is not in the manual, and you seem to know your way around can you please provide this for me?

It is the type with the switch to change the remote to TV
